Guitar Strings & Sailboat Things
The Crew from The Bee Room successfully completed their “Guitar Strings & Sailboat Things” album and tour!
Marc Borde, Ryan Beard, and Blake Plsek made up the crew that took a 26’ Pearson Sailboat on a voyage filled with music performances and adventure, playing 33 shows in 38 days at ports along the Texas coast from Seabrook to Corpus Christi. Along the way they met up with the rest of their respective band members (Shark Attack and Mama Tried) for some extra special shows in Port O’Connor, Corpus Christi, and Port Aransas. It was truly a unique tour, and we believe it was the first of its kind in Texas. Check out Marc’s Captains log!
Before setting sail for their tour, The Crew recorded an acoustic album which also features musicians from Shark Attack and Mama Tried, and some more friends too. Craig Lawrence of Elevation Reservation in Austin, TX recorded the album on The Crew’s tour boat “Alyzarian”, and the musicians who performed on the album are: Marc Borde (Vocals, Guitar, Percussion), Ryan Beard (Vocals, Guitar), Dru Long (Vocals), Nicole Saxton (Vocals), Matt Beard (Vocals), Jason White (Dobro), Blake Plsek (Banjo, Percussion). The album has a soulful feel and a diverse sound blending reggae, folk, and bluegrass, and has thick natural harmonies. The Crew is happy to report that they sold out of all of their “Guitar Strings & Sailboat Things” CD’s while on tour and say that it has been receiving great reviews! Now that they are back home from their voyage, Marc Borde and Ryan Beard will be continuing their music endeavors and collaborating on a book documenting their adventures on board the “Alyzarian”. Be sure to check out their bands Shark Attack, Mama Tried, and The Crew at a venue near you!
